TV channels through wireless ???

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

Hi folks,

first of all I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I'm going to take my chances. I'm working for a company that provides TV channels through DOCSIS, so I can have TV channels in any extension I need (ASI, IP, etc.). I'm thinking to distribute the TV channels (at least a few of them) through a PtMP link, is that possible??? I know the question is to general but if it is technically possible then I'll start to dig on this.

Thanks in advance.

BR.

ptp 100m line of sight

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

Hi,

I've just bought a house with no broadband connection. My brother lives about 100m LOS (320ft) away from me and has a 250mbit/s fiber connection.

I can't decide what radios to buy. I just want maxium speed out of that fiber connection for about 200 euros.

Should i buy a pair of Nanostation M5 or Nanobeam ACs(NBE-A5AC-16) ?

Excuse my bad english.

/A

Question, when setting up the dsih there is a level on the back.  Do I make sure the post the dish is attached to is perfectly plumb or that the level on the back of sidh is level??  My post is perfectly plumb but the dish level says its out.

Small project recommendation

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

I posed this in another forum and didn't get an traction so I'm thinking it was the wrong forum.  Anyway, short story, I need to run an IP cam at each of the blue dots on the drawing and would appreciate some recommendations on what gear I need to use.  The distance is very short so I'm curious if I should just purchase a legacy product like the Unifi AP Outdoor.  However I would prefer to use a wired IP cam and not sure the best route to go to beam wifi to each location and then have a reiceiving device with an ethernet port.  I was looking at the Nano m5 but again I'm not exactly sure if that would be complete overkill for something like this.  Unfortunately digging a trench for ethernet is not an option.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

supporting 4 12v IP cameras over 2km beside a lake for a rowing course

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

If people can offer suggestions for a particular challenge I have it would be very much appreciated: I am responsible for timing for a rowing event. Using 12v POE IP cameras from a home security system (Swann) and 12v car batteries I would like to set up a point to multipoint network along the side of the lake so that I can capture 500m split times (the 20 fps cameras are sufficient for the particular need I have).

There needs to be a camera at the start, 500 metre mark, 1000 metres, 1500 metres all transmitting to the finish line. The cameras will be on pilings beside the course and there is direct line of sight to the finish line from each piling. There is no power on the pilings. Each camera generates data at about 5 MB/second.

1) Would Nanostation M2's (NSM2?) be appropriate for this task? 5: 4 as stations/1 as multipoint access point

2) can they run on 12v POE or do they require 24v?

I am paying for this myself, so I am trying to be as frugal as functionality permits.

Please see the image attached for details. There is power at the finish line.

thank you,

Simon

Switches and m5

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

I am running ip cameras on a nvr and need to put a bridge in to run 4 cameras at another building about 1000ft away. My question is out of the nvr do I run 4 Ethernet cables to a switch then to the "base" m5? Then at the other remote building I go from the "remote" m5 to another switch then out with 4 Ethernet cables to the ip cameras? The cameras will be in the same general location just pointing different directions. This will be a closed network and not connected to the internet. Any help would be appreciated

RocketAC Omni Multipoint feeding NanoBeam 5AC remote sites

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

RP5ACGen2 with AMO-5G13 Omni (Main Site)

NBE-5AC-Gen2 pointing to AMO-5G13 at Main Site - Distance 500 to 2500 ft (less than 1 mile with line of site)

Bandwidth needed (100mbps max)

Is this feasible or is there a better solution?  Maybe 5-10 Nanobeams connecting to the Rocket5ACGen2

Remote Stations Wireless Bridge 7km and 4km

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

Hi All,

We have 2 very remote Bore Transfer Stations on the outskirts of our Power Station and need assistance with the appropriate ubiquiti products to create point to point a wireless bridge.

The first transfer station is located 7 kilometres away and the second 4 kilometres away, showed in below diagram.

The transfer station at 4 km is somewhat line of sight from the top of the power station. But the other at 7km is not line of sight.

We would only require a 100mb link. But if a gigabit link is possible we would like to consider that also.

Would Ubiquiti have products that can solve our dilemma?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks,

Nanostation Secondary Port Power

Категория: AirMax Getting Started

Will the Nanostation M2 second port be able to to power a UAP-AC-LR AP?  I have a 24VDC 1a POE injector to power the Nanostation which I want to use as a 2.4ghz client and router/gateway for the UAP access point on 5.8ghz.

Just curious if that secondary port will handle that kind of power output.  Or, possibly suggest another dual band access point preferably with an external antenna connector that could run off of the Nanostation secondary port.

What I'm trying to do is create a 5.8ghz wireless lan for up to 10 devices that will uplink to an existing wireless hotspot.
